Happy New Year ~ Get to know your customers

Happy New Year! Thoughts this time of year inevitably turn to New Years Resolutions.  Whether you make resolutions or not the new year does bring a feeling of new beginnings and starting fresh.With that in mind, what would you like to change about your life or your business this year?  I'd love to chat with you about what you would like to get out of your business this year and how we can make it happen.  Give me a call and we'll get together over coffee.

What type of relationship do you have with your customers? Do you simply know their name and phone number and that they order hand cream and lip balm?  Or do you know their kids/pets names, where they work, and what they do for fun? 

Whether our customers are all friends and family or we never met them before they become customers the relationship we have with them plays a big part in how successful our business is. Our customers have MANY options when it comes to where and how to shop.  What really sets Avon apart from the competition is You, the Avon Lady (or Avon Man), and your interaction with them. 

When Avon was founded (as the California Perfume Company in 1886), David McConnell intentionally sought out  women to sell his products because he understood that they would be able to build better relationships with the women that were his target market. He also knew that through those relationships the customer would have a better shopping experience which would have them spending more and coming back regularly.

Take the time to get to know your customers..  Ask questions, then really listen to the answers.  Offer a genuine compliment about something in their home, their appearance or their family, then again, listen to what they have to say about it.   As you learn more about them you will be able to make better recommendations about products, and you will also be able to make their Avon experience as pleasant for them as possible.  And the more they enjoy their Avon shopping experience, the more they'll keep coming back.
