 First Steps

1. Start Your Avon Training

Visit the Avon YouTube Channel to start your Avon (YouTube.com/Avon)product and sales training. Click on playlists to see the videos organized by topics so you can easily find what you're most interested in.

I recommend starting with the Getting Started With Avon Playlist. It has several short videos (under 5 minutes) with tips to get your business off to a strong start.

Be sure to bookmark the page so you can easily pop in when you have a few minutes.

2. Share Your Online Store

Got to Avon.com --> Click on My Store at the top of the screen (on mobile swipe the headers to the left) then click the share link to choose how you would like to share or copy the link. You can then paste the link in text, email or social post

Encourage potential customers to click on the Digital Brochure for an online version of the paper brochure enhanced with with videos, tutorials and a tool to try on makeup looks virtually.

Printed Brochures are also available for you to share in person with customers. You can add those to your Shopping Bag before you check out on Avon.com

3. Get Found by Customers and Recruits

If you would like your online store to be found by new customers, and for visitors to your online store to be able to sign up as a representative under you, you will want to go into your profile and opt-in to the Find a Rep search

To opt-in, sign into Avon.com, then click where it says “Hi YourName” at the top of the page, then click on my profile and scroll down under preferences to Let Customers & Recruits find me Online to set your preferences.

4. Connect with your Avon community

Check out @avoninsider on Instagram, the Avon USA Representative Facebook Page and the Official Avon Representative Social Selling Group (which is exclusively for Representatives just like you!) for trainings and new updates. It's a great place to connect!

New Avon Representative FAQs

Q. How do I share the Digital Brochure?

A. Go to Avon.com and click on Digital Brochure. Choose the way you would like to share the link and click on one of the share icons under the brochure . The option to share by text will be available on mobile devices. You can also copy the link and paste that anywhere you would like to share.

Q. How do I order Brochures?

A. The easiest way to add brochures to your order is when you are in the shopping bag.  Click Add Brochures to expand the options and add to your order. Be sure to order your brochures 2 campaigns out so you will be ready to sell the next campaign right after placing your order instead of waiting for your shipment to arrive. If you are ordering the same day every campaign, that gives you the full two weeks to share each campaign's brochures and collect orders.

Q. How do I place an order?

A. To place your Representative order go to Avon.com. You have a few options for how to shop. You can choose to order by item number or name, shop the digital catalog, browse product categories or search for the product you're interested in. Once you've added all of the items you and your customers want you can proceed to your cart (just click on the shopping cart at the top of the page) to pay for and submit your order.

There are great resources on Avon U. Simply search Place an order (complete process) at the top of the page to find a step by step tutorial.

Q. How will my customers get their products?

A. There are basically two ways that customers get their products:

1. Order through your online store, pay Avon directly and the products ship from Avon to the customer

2. Order through you and pay you for their order. You place the order as part of your representative order and then deliver the order to the customer.

Click HERE for more tips about customer orders and shipping.

Q. When should I place my order?

A. Anytime that works well for you.  I do highly recommend combining your personal order, supply order and any customer orders into a single order for the campaign to save on shipping costs. You can view the Campaign Calendar that shows what days each campaign covers on AvonNow near the top of the page.

A lot of representatives prefer to place their personal and representative delivery orders near the beginning of the campaign for better availability of limited edition items that may sell out quickly but you can choose whatever day works well for you and your customers.  The only day I don't recommend is the last day of the campaign because sometimes life likes to throw us curve balls that could cause  you to place the order late and potentially miss our on incentives or promotions.

Click HERE for more tips about choosing an order day.

Q. How often should I order?

A. As often as you like, but you'll probably want to order at least once a campaign to get any new products you'd like to try, keep your brochures current if you're using the printed brochure, and cut down on customer wait time for your face to face customers.  Some representatives will place an order whenever a customer has placed an order but since we pay shipping on each order I suggest placing an order once a campaign, or once a week to save on shipping costs.

Q. How long will it take for my order to arrive?

A. Orders ship from our warehouse in Ohio usually within two days and shipping time will depend on your distance from the warehouse.Transit time is typically 2-6 days

Q. Why do I want to add customers to my address book?

A. When you add customers to your address book, or they register themselves, Avon will automatically send them emails with the latest products and specials, and our Beauty Insider newsletter with beauty tips, products information and the latest news from Avon.  Having your customer emails in your address book also gives you the option to create your own Promotional offers and share those codes with your customers.  (see how do I create a promotion code here in the FAQs)

Q. How do I add customers to my address book?

A. To add customers go to Manage Business on then Address Book, then click the +Customer button.

Customers can also register themselves on your online store by clicking sign in at the top of the page and then create account, or by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking sign up

All customers need a valid email address to be entered in your address book or register on your online store.

Q. How do I create a Promotion Code?

A. To create your own coupon code go to Manage Business then Promotional Tool. Click on Create New Promotion to see what promotions are available and set those up.

Promotional Codes can only be used by registered customers on your online store who are subscribed to receive emails. Some Promotions have a cost for the representative, be sure to review the Your Cost Per Order before creating and sharing a code.

For full details on how to create and use Promotional Codes visit Avon U and search Promotional Tool in the search bar at the top of the page.  You should see the training module Using the Promotion Tool near the top of the list.

Q. How do I learn more about the products?

A. We have a couple of great ways to learn about the products. First, visit the product pages on Avon.com.  Each product page has detailed information about each product. You can also find all sorts of product training in Avon U including guides for helping you and your customers choose the right products for your / their needs.

Q. How does someone join my Avon team?

A. When you have someone who would like to become an Avon representative and join your team, have them visit your online store and click Become a Rep at the top of the page. They should make sure they see your name listed as their advisor before completing the enrollment.

Q. How do customers pay for their order?

A. For customers that are shopping for direct delivery on your online store they will pay Avon directly. For customers that you will be delivering to you will collect payment for the full brochure price on the products, sales tax and any order processing charge you want to add (most reps charge $1-3 per order).
Most representatives accept cash, or payment through one or more of the convenient digital payment options like PayPay, Venmo or Zelle.  You can also use some of these services to accept payments by credit or debit card.  There can be a small fee for using some of these services, so be sure you know what those are before you use a service. A small number of representatives also accept checks, but I only recommend taking checks from customers you know and trust. Checks should be made out to you so you can deposit them in your account or cash them at the customers bank.

Q. How do I get paid?

A. How you get paid will be depend on if your customer is getting their order by direct delivery or representative delivery.

For customers who order through your online store those earnings will credit to your account shortly after the customer places their order, they will then transfer at the end of that day to your AvonWallet.  The fist time you have earnings to be paid out you will receive an email with instructions for setting up your AvonWallet.  From there you can transfer your funds to a prepaid debit care, your checking account, PayPal or Venmo.

For orders that you are delivering to the customer you will collect the full amount for the order from your customer as explained above. When you place your order Avon will deduct your commission from the amount that you pay for the order.  The difference between what you collect from customers and what you pay Avon is your earnings.

Keep in mind that when you are ordering business tools and products for yourself, some or all of your commission may be helping to cover the cost of those products so while you may not see as much cash in hand at the end of the campaign, some of your earnings are in the form of products.
