Your Idea file

As you are completing training in Avon University, attending meetings and reading/watching training online you will find many tips, tricks and techniques that you would like to try out in your business, but often you will have more ideas than you can try out at one time or it may not be the right time for that particular idea. This is where having an "idea file" can help.  An idea file is where you save all of the ideas that you would like to try at some point in the future.

The simplest idea file is a notebook with a pocket or two.  You jot down ideas you would like to try and cross them off once you try them or make notes about what you would do different if you do it again.  You would also note where to find any relevant information, for example a note that the form you want to use can be found in the Resources section of Avon University.

How you organize your idea file is unimportant, as long as you can find what you need when you are ready for it.  Here are just a few other options to do that:

  1. Keep a small file box, or drawer where you save printed materials such as flyers or information sheets. Don't use too big a file or you will overwhelm yourself with too many ideas and be less likely to try any of them.
  2. Have a folder within your documents folder on your computer.  You can scan in any printed materials and include them here to save space.
  3. You can also use an online storage folder such as dropbox or google docs to make accessing your file from multiple locations easier.
  4. Use a note taking application like Evernote or OneNote. It's like a notebook for your phone/ipad/computer.
A great place to start to build your idea file is the Avon University training on your website.  In addition to the training courses, there are great resources that you can download and/or print out for use now or in the future.
